Aug 1st-4th Aug - Dealing with Loss

On Sunday, my Uncle invited one and all home to be part of Harmonizing Rituals meant for all the Gods he believed in.
On Monday, content & happy, he closed his eyes & slept for one last time. His spirit bid adieu. Body remained. Grief spread across the room.

Many would say, he lived his life full & was blessed to go before any illness made his final farewell painful.

Now, I've always remained unruffled about death and the departed, fully aware of what we call "That Way of Life" & that "We're here today & gone tomorrow". But it almost always splashes ice cold water on my hibernated busy life & makes me re-evaluate the real reasons to live.

Does it matter what I own?
Is it worthwhile being alone?
Do days I spent working really count?
Have my experiences in life been compelling & profound?
Are there people out there, who if I died, would really mourn?
Is there satisfaction within of having given & received selfless & unconditional love?
Has my gut feeling led me to travel the path foretold?
What of all things dreamed of, wished for, or wanted that still remains undone?
Will there be any regret that I might carry on to the other world?
Deviating from self, I wonder, Can I truly bear the loss of my very dear ones? - cuz that too is fated to eventually happen.

Now to snap out of this gloomy introspection, I do conclude that:
"I wish to live a life so crazy that dying will only be a befitting achievement rather than an expected end that is time bound."
Its true. "It's the life in your years & not the years in your life".
I hope this sacred lesson learnt stays on as a daily reminder, cause sooner or later, & sadly, the tangible things often conceal the intangible truth. Scary, that we move along blinded & consumed with petty issues that figure no where in the overall equation.

Uneasy. Not Okay.

You are worth only what you earn

Today I discovered the importance of a well paying job and how it is related to everything in life --

1. Ensures respect not just from colleagues but also for your near and dear.
2. You are taken seriously, the society has created a relation between earnings and intelligence; earnings are directly proportionate to intelligence.
3. Your capabilities are measured again by the sum of money you're earning, if you do not earn money your lack potential would be a common un-said phrase you'd hear from every person.
4. Earning money = greater power to dictate terms inside/outside your household.
5. You would be perceived as carving for money for providing self-worth, a sense of security or power whereas you would in all probability belong to the set of people who see money as just a means to satisfy simple needs.
As the cliche goes, money can buy you everything but happiness, I have learnt of late that it is indeed a means to buy happiness. So, if you think you deserve respect from society, and most importantly your near and dear ones, you know what to do!

Fighting OCD

It is difficult to fight the odd old habit of cleaning, arranging, re-arranging...So over the last two days I learnt to ignore the thin layer of dust forming on the furniture, the ever increasing pile of dirty clothes, learnt to sleep with dirty feet and learnt to ignore the ever persistent ever pestering feeling of tidying up the house. (My husband did it for a change). I could not however, control myself in the morning today from cleaning my desk and the keyboard. (I'm still thinking of cleaning the house and I know no matter how much I ignore it; the nagging feeling would come back)

Stay away! LAPTOP! - 29th/30th/31st July

Over the last 3 days, I learnt to stay off my obsessive internet infatuation.
Things around me slowed down unlike the updates or feeds from my networks.
Information lined up in a queue to reach my brain unlike all at once as it used to.
I observed clearly Peoples faces, made eye contact & room for genuine conversations unlike virtual Chat Boxes.
Of most importance is to learn to have FUN while you chase your ambitions - point taken.
A peek into our lives and reasons for good or bad outcomes. Acknowledged - that it's just Challenges that pose as problems.
Exercise continued to suffer from my procrastination. While sleep got its undue attention.
Enjoyed good food and a cocktail of mild booze.
My SWYLT & resolution:
"STAY AWAY! Laptop! From now on.. every weekend!" :)
Tell me how many of you out there will follow my "No LAPTOPS on weekend!" movement & I promise to meet & hug you in person! :D
